We caught the train down after work & school yesterday and stayed at a cheap airport hotel last night. Very basic accommodation - from here on, pretty much everywhere we stay will be relative luxury! At least, if there's a bedside table and the cups in the bathroom aren't disposable, we'll think it's luxury.
It's interesting, getting into tourist mode for a holiday - the train trip down the Mountains is a beautiful journey. Looking out over the valleys and ridges in the evening, with a thousand shades of green, blue and purple... I know we'll be seeing some amazing things this trip, but that is a pretty impressive start.
We are at the airport now, waiting at the departure gate - we've done all that tedious metal-detector-x-ray-do-you-have-any-liquids stuff and now we have many hours of sitting ahead of us.
